Raggle Taggle History & Sound Bytes

"The Celtic Castaways" is a Raggle Taggle Production. The players are individuals that have been playing music from England, Ireland, Scotland, and old Britannia. Celtic (pronounced Keltic) music gets its roots from 2000 years of story telling and wandering throughout Europe and England. It takes its rythym from ancient drumming and percussion from as far as the middle East. The Celts are actually ancestors to most peoples in Europe and England. In earlier days, there was no written language and all traditions and history was past on by story telling from one generation to the next. As music developed, stories were put to song. As the written word developed, these stories came to us from fiddlers, historians, pub singers, shanty men, as well as recorded groups like Steeleyed Span, Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull, and others.

Inherant in the our song is rich weave of the most glorious and exciting story ever told...the history of tradition and folklore of mankind.
